Körber, the global supply chain technology leader from software to materials handling automation, continues to support supply chain optimization at C-LOG, the logistics provider for Groupe Beaumanoir and a leading company for French fashion. As COVID-19 continues to impact consumer behavior, C-LOG, a retail and e-commerce specialist, reacts to new forms of consumption with a new omnichannel strategy.
In order to meet the challenges of omnichannel orders and supply chain flexibility, C-LOG partnered with Körber, which it has been collaborating with since 2018 to implement a uniform and centralized software environment for all of its logistics sites. C-LOG entrusted Körber with the implementation of its warehouse management system (WMS) and its distributed order management system at five logistics locations (Saint-Malo, Longueil Sainte-Marie, Pleudihen, Cambrai and Vatry) for many of the Group's brands. These include Bonobo, Cache Cache, Bréal and new clients such as Majestic Filatures. The software deployment now has over 700 users and continues to grow over time.
“Körber combines in-depth know-how of omnichannel fashion logistics with advanced software solutions tailored to the needs of its customers,” said Ottavio Rivelli, Managing Director at Körber Supply Chain. “The scalable technological platform of our solutions offer companies like C-LOG the flexibility and visibility, which are essential to support growth strategies.”
The provisional schedule is, of course, bound to change to integrate the new activities of C-LOG. This already happened in July 2020, when C-LOG took over all logistics activities of the La Halle brand, which was sold to Groupe Beaumanoir in June. To make the migration to omnichannel a success and integrate the 366 stores of La Halle, C-LOG again trusted in Körber to overcome these logistic challenges with modern warehouse management and distributed order management solutions.
In Montierchaume, a 41,000 m2 logistics site for clothing was taken over, and in Cambrai a warehouse for the shoe division was opened. Körber’s warehouse management system (WMS) had to be implemented at these new logistics locations extremely fast. The first functional specification workshops took place on July 15th, one week after the brand was acquired, with the go-live taking place on September 4th. The site faced numerous challenges: taking over part of the automation, developing the WMS core model, e-commerce logistics, relabeling locations, interfacing with a route system and finally training 80 users.
"It is thanks to the hard work of all Körber teams, the maturity of the C-LOG project teams for the Körber solutions and the motivation of the operational teams that we were able to overcome this challenge. The partnership with and trust in the Körber teams for over 2 years contributed to the success of this type of project,” said Gwendal Buzulier, Industrialization Director at C-LOG.
Despite the challenges encountered, the C-LOG and Körber teams successfully deployed the software solutions in record time. The unique WMS environment made it possible to avoid heavy infrastructure work and the WMS core model, tailored to C-LOG's needs, facilitated rapid deployment. The strength of the partnership of C-LOG and Körber as well as the excellent collaboration between the teams made it possible to overcome this immense challenge on time.
